It is one of the first questions we hear, whether someone calls or writes through the form on the site: how much does this even cost. The honest answer is: it depends, and that is not us dodging the question. A catamaran cruise is not a ticket on a fixed route at a fixed price. It is a private event on the water, built around a specific group, a specific day and specific expectations. So instead of throwing out one number, we would rather show you what that price is made of. It makes it easier to see why two seemingly similar cruises can cost differently, and why it is worth asking for a quote instead of guessing.
Cruise length makes the biggest difference
The first variable we start every conversation with is time on the water. Morning Escape runs about two and a half to three hours: a calm morning cruise with coffee, quiet on deck and the sun rising over the bay. Sunset Cruise is about three hours around golden hour, the most popular choice among our guests. Golden Hour Club stretches to four or five hours, because that is a full event with a DJ, live music and an open bar. The longer the catamaran is exclusively at your disposal, the higher the cost, which is only logical. But a longer cruise is not always the better one. For an intimate occasion, a business meeting or a romantic afternoon, a shorter format often works better than a multi-hour party.
Group size and the nature of the event
The second thing we always ask about: how many people are sailing and what the occasion is. An intimate date for two is an entirely different setup than a hen party for fifteen or a company outing for forty. A bigger group means more catering, more crew, sometimes a larger boat or several catamarans sailing together. The type of event matters too: a birthday, a stag do, an engagement or a corporate event each have their own rhythm and their own expectations for an afternoon on the water. When you write to us with a description of the occasion, we can see straight away which setup will fit and how much crew we need to plan for.
Exclusivity: do you share the deck with others
Some of our cruises are fully private: the catamaran, the crew and the entire programme belong to your group alone for the whole cruise. That is a different cost tier than a cruise where seats are sold individually and you share the deck with other guests. Private Charter gives you full control over the route, the music, the moment the champagne cork pops and who stands next to you on the bow. If you are planning something truly personal, like an engagement or a corporate event with a presentation, exclusivity is practically a must.
The most common budgeting mistake is comparing prices without checking what is actually included. An hour of cruise with an open bar and a DJ is a completely different cost to an hour of bare charter with nothing else.
Add-ons that change the character of a cruise
Add-ons are usually what decides the final amount, because they set the mood of the event. You can choose from:
- a DJ who shapes the music to the mood and time of day
- a live saxophonist, perfect for golden hour
- an open bar with drinks throughout the cruise
- sushi and snacks served on deck
- a photographer to capture the whole afternoon
- decorations matched to the occasion, for a birthday or an engagement, say
- jet skis as an extra attraction on longer cruises
Each of these can be added on its own or combined into a package. The open bar alone changes the character of an event more than any other add-on, which is why it is usually the one that decides whether the budget rises significantly or stays in the basic range.
Season, time of day and day of the week
Summer in the Tricity naturally brings high demand for cruises, so dates in June, July and August fill up fastest, weekends especially. A Sunset Cruise on a Saturday evening in mid-July puts a very different pressure on the calendar than the same cruise on a Wednesday morning in September. Outside the peak season and on weekdays, it is easier to find a flexible date, and sometimes better terms too. Time of day matters separately from season: sunset cruises are the most sought after, so it is worth booking them ahead, especially if the date is fixed, an anniversary or a birthday, for instance.
What is usually included in a cruise
To avoid any confusion: a standard cruise always includes the catamaran itself, an experienced crew, a set route across the Gulf of Gdańsk and full safety on board. We agree the departure point together at booking, usually the marina in Gdańsk or Gdynia, depending on what suits your route best. Weather on the Baltic can be unpredictable, so safety always comes first: if conditions make sailing impossible, we offer a new date rather than a risky cruise in bad weather. That has nothing to do with price, but it is worth knowing from the start of the conversation.
What to work out before your first call
Before you call or fill in the form, it helps to have a few things sorted in your head, since it speeds up both the conversation and the quote. First, a rough headcount: even if the guest list is not final, a range is enough. Second, a rough date, ideally with one or two backup days in case your preferred date is already taken. Third, the nature of the occasion: a calm business meeting with a presentation, or more of an evening after which everyone heads home smiling with sore feet from dancing. The clearer the picture you bring, the faster you get a proposal that actually matches what you are looking for, instead of a generic price list that would need adjusting anyway.
Why we do not publish one price list
We understand that not having a ready-made price table can be inconvenient when comparing several offers at once. But renting a catamaran is not a service with one parameter, it is several variables combined at once: cruise length, headcount, chosen add-ons, season and time of day. A ready price list would either need dozens of variants that still have to be calculated by hand, or be so general it would say nothing specific about your cruise. We would rather spend a few minutes talking and give you a quote that actually matches what you are planning, than publish a number that would change anyway after the first questions about your group and occasion.
